Day01: Fly to Lukla Trek to Phakding:
It takes 35minutes scenic flight through mountains to arrive at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport located at 2804m altitude in Lukla known to be the most dangerous airport in the world. Disembarking at Lukla, the thrilling trekking sensation kick starts as we pursue the trekking trail via Dudh Koshi River to head towards Namche Bazaar. About 4hours of casual walking will take us through the enchanting hamlet at Ghat to reach Phakding village.
Day02: Trek to Namche Bazaar:
Plodding along Dudh Kosi River, we will cross the bridge and enter the serene belt of Sagarmatha National Park. Escalating through Himalayan Pine and Deodar Cedar forests, we will arrive at Namche Bazaar which falls under one of the biggest villages on Everest Trail. Namche Bazaar is historically prominent for being the ancient trade center for Nepalese and Tibetan traders who exchange salt, dried meat and other consumable and textile items.
Day03: Rest day at Namche Bazaar:
There is going to be a remarkable increase in altitude after Namche Bazaar. Thus acclimatization is a must whereby we will try synchronizing our bodily functions in accordance to the given surrounding. It is better to visit the local Bazaar of Namche and the nearby Sherpa villages rather than lying idle. Or you can proceed to the nearby Museum that depicts the culture of indigenous Sherpa people. We will stay in hotel at Namche Bazaar for the night.
Day04: Trek to Dole via Khumjung:
Crossing the valleys along the rhododendron, juniper and coniferous grooves, we will walk past the meadows with lush green vegetation. Amusing ourselves with the views of yaks and sheep grazing on the green pasture field, we will cross the exquisite Khumjung Village inhabited by Sherpa before heading to Dole where we will be staying overnight.
Day05: Trek to Machhermo:
Traversing the copse forests, we will notice the gradual rise in altitude as we climb up along the side of the valley to make it to Machhermo which is mythically associated as the home of abominable snowman, Yeti where we will be staying overnight.
Day06: Trek to Gokyo:
Escalating uphill about 300 meters we will eventually enter the Gokyo Valley. Waddling across several glacier lakes, we will make an advance to the amazing Gokyo Valley. Located to the base of Gokyo Peak, Gokyo boasts in bestowing the view of Ngozumpa glacier, the largest glacier in the Himalayas.
Day07: Rest Day at Gokyo:
This will be the rest day that will aid us in rejuvenating one’s vigor and prepare for upcoming treks. A short hike in Gokyo Valley can be arranged to unlock the natural mystery in Gokyo.
Day08: Trek to Gokyo Ri Back to Machhermo:
Treading all the way to Gokyo Ri or Gokyo Peak that exists at an altitude of 5357m height, we will have the mesmerizing views of Mount Everest, Cho Oyu, Makalu and Lhotse after which we will lower down to Machhermo located at 4470m height where we will be staying overnight.
Day09: Trek to Namche Bazaar:
About 5hrs of easy trekking down the hill through few Highland Villages inhabited by welcoming Sherpa ethnics will lead us to bustling Market Area of Namche Bazaar where we will be staying in a lodge.
Day10: Trek to Lukla:
7hours of downhill trek will be enough to take us to Lukla where we will be staying overnight in a hotel as we prepare ourselves to board a flight back to Kathmandu the next day.
Day11: Flight: Lukla to Kathmandu:
30-minutes of picturesque flight above mountains will finally lead us to domestic airport in Kathmandu from where we will head towards our hotel. The free time can be utilized by visiting the freak streets of Thamel to buy the souvenirs. A dinner will be hosted in the evening to commemorate the successful Gokyo Lake Treks.
