Day 01– Flight: Kathmandu to Lukla Trek to Phakding:
It takes 35minutes scenic flight through mountains to arrive at the Tenzing-Hillary Airport located at 2804m altitude in Lukla known to be the most dangerous airport in the world. Disembarking at Lukla, the thrilling trekking sensation kick starts as we pursue the trekking trail via Dudh Koshi River to head towards Namche Bazaar. About 4hours of casual walking will take us through the enchanting hamlet at Ghat to reach Phakding village.
Day 02– Trek to Namche Bazaar:
Plodding along Dudh Kosi River, we will cross the bridge and enter the serene belt of Sagarmatha National Park. Escalating through Himalayan Pine and Deodar Cedar forests, we will arrive at Namche Bazaar which falls under one of the biggest villages on Everest Trail. Namche Bazaar is historically prominent for being the ancient trade center for Nepalese and Tibetan traders who exchange salt, dried meat and other consumable and textile items.
Day 03– Rest Day in Namche Bazaar:
There is going to be a remarkable increase in altitude after Namche Bazaar. Thus acclimatization is a must whereby we will try synchronizing our bodily functions in accordance to the given surrounding. It is better to visit the local Bazaar of Namche and the nearby Sherpa villages rather than lying idle. Or you can proceed to the nearby Museum that depicts the culture of indigenous Sherpa people. We will stay in hotel at Namche Bazaar for the night.
Day 04– Trek to Thame:
4hours of trekking through the easy trail should be enough to take you to Thame. Heading west, we will have a gentle descend to Bhote Koshi Valley afterwards which the trail escalates uphill to Thame that offers enticing spectacle of Teng Kangpoche and Kwangde Mountains.
Day 05- Rest Day at Thame:
This is a Rest Day. Travelling the 3passes requires lots of energy and enough will power. We need to recharge our lost energy several times for this trek. Side trip can be arranged to Thambuchet or Tashi Lapcha Base Camp or Samdur Peak before returning back to Thame for night.
Day 06- Trek to Lungden:
Heading North from Thame, we will tread along the thundering Dudhkoshi River named after its milky white water for about 4hours to arrive at Lungden Valley that comprises few Sherpa settlements. We will stay in a local hotel for the night.
Day 07- Rest Day at Lungden:
This is taken as acclimatization day. Subtle walking is preferrd than remaining idle for avoiding High Alttude Sickness. We can explore around Nakpa Valley or hike to Darkyachhulung Peak or visit the warfield site at Marlung or else to Lake Cho Relmo after which we will be returning back to Lungden for night.
Day 08- Trek to Gokyo via Renjo La Pass:
Pursuing the rocky trail made slippery by snow, we will ascend the Renjo La Pass proceeding through the glaciers. Admiring the eyeful vistas of Mount Everest and several other mountains including Gokyo Valley, we will descend to Gokyo Lake where we will be staying in a camp overnight.
Day 09- Rest Day at Gokyo:
Gokyo has got many fascinating marvels that need whole day for adventuring. We will be visiting the fifth lake passing along the fourth lake and appreciating the spectacular terrains of Gokyo.
Day 10- Trek to Gokyo Ri Trek back to Thangnak:
Escalating uphill to a ridge from Gokyo to Gokyo Ri, the trekking trail prolongs through Ngozumpa Glacier to another mountain allowing the exhilarating scenes of Cho Oyu, Makalu, Mont Everest and Lhotse Mountains prior to having gentle drop to Thangnak which is also known as Thaknak and Dragnag.
Day 11- Trek to Dzongla via Cho La Pass:
It is going to be the most difficult part of trekking. So we will head towards the Cho La Pass early in the morning. Pursuing the slippery path through snow, we will conquer the Cho La Pass. Enjoying the mesmerizing views of sorrounding landscapes including Everest and other mountains, we will descend to Dzongla where we will be staying overnight.
Day 12- Trek to Gorakshep Lake via Lobuche Back to Gorakshep:
A brief trek pursuing the ridges and rocky trail will lead us to Lobuche. Crossing the lateral moraines of Khumbu Glacier, we will escalate through Thangma Riju and Changri Glacier offering the first look of Kala Patthar to make it to Gorak Shep Lake. Later we will be back to Gorakshep for overnight stay in a camp.
Day 13- Trek to Kala Patthar Trek to Lobuche:
The trek on 13th day commences early in the morning with ascend to Kala Patthar located at 5545m altitude. Enjoying the sunrise view on Mount Everest from Kala Patthar and appreciating the serene beauties of Pumori, Lingtren, Khumbutse, Nuptse, Ama Dablam, Thamserku and other Mountains doinating sky line, we will lower down to Lobuche where we will be staying in a tented camp for the night.
Day 14- Trek to Chhukung via Kongma La Pass:
Treading through the Khumbu Glacier, we will ascend the escalating slope towards Kongma La Pass. Indulging in the hypnotizing spectacle of the Valley with frozen lakes and engrossing views of several mountains including Colatse, Nuptse, Lhotse, Makalu and Ama Dablam, we will drop down through Niyang Khola Valley to Chhukung.
Day 15- Trek to Tyangboche:
Pursuing the trail along Dudh Koshi River, we will saunter to Pangboche Village and visit its popular Monastery before lowering down through pine grooves, the trail whence rises steeply to Tyangboche.
Day 16- Trek to Namche Bazaar:
Lowering down the hill, we will pass through Kyangjuma from where the trail stretches through verdant forest to Army Camp before our arrival at Namche Bazaar. Upon your interest, we can organize a brief visit to villages of Khumjung before hitting Namche Bazaar.
Day 17– Trek to Phakding:
Leaving Namche Bazaar early in the morning, we will pass across the Himalayan Pine and Deodar grooves through Sagarmatha National Park premises whence we will cross Dudhkoshi River over wooden bridge to end up at Phakding where we will be staying in a local hotel.
Day 18– Trek to Lukla:
Surpassing the trail that moves through several small Sherpa settlements, we will move across the path with soaring views of Mountains dominating skyline and lush green vistas to end up at Lukla where we will be busy packing our things and preparing for flight to Kathmandu which will be taken tomorrow.
Day19- Fly to Kathmandu:
35-minutes of pleasant mountain flight will take us to Domestic Airport of Kathmandu whence we will drive back to our hotel from where it all started. In the evening, you can take a stroll in the freaking streets of Thamel to buy souvenirs to your loved ones before enjoying the dinner hosted to celebrate the successful everest Khumbu Explore 3 High Passes Trek
