Located 26 km north east of Kathmandu, Kakani is one of the nearest hill stations from Kathmandu that is famous for its awe- inspiring views of north-western Himalayas including Annapurna, Ganesh, Langtang, Gaurishanker, Dorje Lakpa and other majestic peaks. Kakani Day Tour or Kakani Hiking is a 6hr adventurous day tour that lets you pass through the forest of oak, rhododendron and pine to Kakani Memorial Park which was built to commemorate the 113 victims of a 1992 Thai Airlines crash.
After breakfast, you will be taken for a guided tour to Kakani. It takes about an hour to reach Kakani from Kathmandu. Explore bustling Kakani Bazaar, visit strawberry farm and climb to the top of Kakani hill station. Drive back to Kathmandu on the evening. We can extend your hike to number of days upon your wish.
7:30 am: Day tour preparation
8:00 am: one hour drive from Kathmandu to Kakani Bazaar and sightseeing of Kakani bazaar.
9:00 am: Two hours of hike to the Kakani hill top which is famous viewpoint and a picnic spot.
11:00 am: Enjoy mountain views and explore Thai Memorial park. Visit local village of Tamang ethnics. Kakani is also famous for its strawberry farm and Japanese Rainbow Trout Fish.
2:00 pm: Back to Kakani bazzar and drive back to Kathmandu and transfer to hotel.
