Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is an important pilgrimage trekking destination in Nepal which is quite popular mostly amongst the domestic tourists. Though mostly popular and common amongst the domestic pilgrims and tourists, Langtang Gosaikunda Trek is also equally popular amongst the international tourists as they will get to witness amazing natural landscapes during the course of the pilgrimage trekking. It is a 18-day long moderately strenuous trekking which takes the trekkers through to the natural marvels of the Langtang region and the Langtang Valley. The holy lake of Gosaikunda is the major highlight of the pilgrimage trek and it also comes under the premises of the Langtang National Park. Langtang Gosaikunda Trek takes the trekkers along the remote and unexplored regions of the Langtang region and will provide them the ultimate adventures of trekking and hiking in Nepal.
Langtang Gosainkunda Trek begins from the little town of Syabrubesi in Rasuwa and moves further up to the Langtang Valley and into the realms of the Langtang National Park. During the course of the pilgrimage trek, you will be passing through several alpine pasture lands, forests, high passes, glaciers and moraines before you finally reach the holy lake of Gosaikunda. Lauribinayak Pass which falls along the trail is one of the highlights of the pilgrimage trekking and you will be returning via Chisapani which is another important place during the course of the itinerary.
A special religious ceremony is held in Gosainkunda Lake every year in the full moon of Nepali month of Bhadra (which roughly coincides with the English month of August). Thousands of Hindu pilgrims make it a point to visit the holy Lake during the ceremony and also perform religious Pooja at the Lake. Langtang Gosaikunda Trek also offers the majestic views of the mountains including the famous Langtang Mountain Range. Hence, the pilgrimage trekking is a wonderful combination of both religious and natural sightseeing tour.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Once you arrive at the Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, you will find our representatives there who will greet you and take you to the Hotel in Kathmandu. After reaching the Hotel, you will be briefly explained about the itinerary package. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
On the second day of the itinerary, you will be sightseeing around the beautiful Capital city, visiting the temples and other monuments and also enjoy the ancient art and architecture. The temples of Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, Bouddhanath and the Durbar squares of Kathmandu, Patan and Bhaktapur are some of the attractions on the second day. You will return to the Hotel in the evening.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi:
Your official trekking starts on the third day when you take a scenic five hour long drive through the serpentine road with beautiful views of rice fields, terraces and hills to finally reach the Trishuli Bazaar. From Trishuli Bazaar, you will then move along the bumping road to reach Dhunche, the district headquarters of rasuwa. From Dhunche, you will continue to move along and reach Syabrubesi Bazaar which is teeming with several hotels and lodges. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 04: Trek to Lama Hotel:
Your official trekking starts on the fourth day when you have breakfast at the guesthouse in the morning and then start on the trek to popular Lama Hotel. The trail initially departs from main road and then descends to meet a suspension bridge which you will cross to reach Doman (1680m). From Doman, you will then head towards the Lama Hotel located at 2470 meters of altitude. Lama Hotel is a popular destination for the trekkers who come to Langtang region for trekking. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 05: Trek to Langtang Village:
From Lama Hotel, you will then move further up to the Langtang Village following a path that passes through the green forests of maple and oak. After walking for around 3-4 hours along an interesting trail, you will then reach the Langtang Village located at an altitude of 3430 meters, Langtang Village offers 180 degree views of Mount Lirung and the Langtang Mountain Range. Before reaching the Village, you will come across to other places like Gumanchowk (2800m) and Ghora Tabela (2970m) which means a horse stable. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 06: Trek to Kyanjin Gompa:
The next day, you will be heading towards the Kyanjin Gompa from the Langtang Village. Kyanjin Gompa is an important place in the Langtang trekking itinerary as it boasts of a very old Buddhist Monastery in the region which is the center of attraction for many visiting tourists. Kyanjin Gompa is located at an altitude of 3870 meters. After reaching there, you can spend some quality time exploring the Monastery. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 07: Trek back to Lama Hotel:
From Kyanjin Gompa, you will return back to the Lama Hotel on the seventh day. However, there are lots of things to do and explore around Kyanjin Gompa before you leave the place. You can explore the glaciers and take a short trek to the Himalayan Yak pastures. Also, Kyanjin Gompa allows 360 degree views of mountains like Mount Langtang, Mount Lirung, Genjempol and Kenga Himalayan ranges. The local cheese factory at Kyanjin is another important to visit place before make your way towards the Lama Hotel.
Day 08: Trek to Syabru Village:
On the 8th day, you will resume your trekking journey from the Lama Hotel and make your way towards the Syabru Village. You will be walking along the trail pursuing the route via Rimche and Bamboo Lodge before you reach the Langtang River. You will cross the River via a suspension bridge before you finally make it to the Syabru Village (2260m).
Day09: Trek to Sing Gompa:
The journey on the 9th day makes its way uphill through several schools and monasteries and also the green looking oak, fir and rhododendron forests before you reach at Foprang Danda (3190m). The trail further moves uphill as you embark towards Sing Gompa where a Buddhist monastery is located at an altitude of 3330 meters. If you have time, you can also have a look at the local Yak cheese factory in the region. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 10: Trek to Lauribinayak Pass:
One of the important destinations of the pilgrimage trekking comes on the 10th day when you trek from Sing Gompa to the Lauribinayak Pass. It will be a strenuous day of trekking as you will walk up the hill, looking at the panoramic view of the mountains and crossing past several local villages. Lauribinayak Pass is located at an altitude of 3920 meters and you will reach there after few hours of tough trekking. Overnight stay at a tented camp.
Day11: Trek to Gosaikunda:
One of the most important days of the trekking itinerary comes on the 11th day when you make your towards the holy lake of Gosaikunda from Lauribinayak Pass. The trek on the 11th day commences when you cross past a monastery that is located nearby the Lauribinayak Pass. After that, you will move gradually considering the fact that high altitude sickness might pose as a problem while reaching to the holy Lake. The holy lake of Gosaikunda is located at an altitude of 4460 meters and after reaching there you can enjoy the grandeur of the stunning Lake. If you are willing enough, then you can even perform religious Pooja alongside the Lake.
Day 12: Trek to Ghopte:
After enjoying a wonderful day and spending a night at the holy Lake, you will then move downhill from the Lake. The trail for this day follows a steep descent from the northern side of the Gosaikunda Lake and moves further along crossing past three small lakes. Then you will come across a rocky path where you will descend further down the slope and come across places like Bhera Goth(4240m) and Phedi (3740m) before eventually leading to Ghopte (3440m).
Day 13: Trek to Tharepati:
The next day, you will follow the trail which climbs steadily upward through oak and pine forests from Ghopte. You will cross past several sparsely populated village areas and forests to reach Magin on Goth from where the trail rises steeply through dense pine forests. After passing a few Chortens and forests, you will reach Tharepati where you will be staying overnight at a guesthouse.
Day14: Trek to Gul Bhanjyang:
The next day, you will resume your journey from Tharepati to Gul Bhanjyang along the trail which escalates through thick pine forests. First you will reach Pati Bhanjyang which is a small village in the region. After a brief rest at Gul Bhanjyang, you will then follow the trail downward the hill passing through small Chortens and agricultural fields to finally reach Gul Bhanjyang (2140m). Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 15: Trek to Chisapani:
On the 15th day, you will trek from Gul Bhanjyang to Chisapani following a trail that moves all the way down from Bhanjyang. You will come across to villages like Thodang Betini (2260m), Chipling (2170m), Pati Bhanjyang (1860m) before finally making it to the popular Chisapani which serves as a destination for night stay for the Kathmandu denizens. Chisapani is located at a moderate altitude of 2134 meters. It also offers some great views of the mountains.
Day16: Trek to Sundarijal:
The next day, you will hike down from Chisapani to Sundarijal. On the way, you will come across Nepal Army Check Post where your Shivpuri entrance permit is checked and then you will move to Mulkharka (1800 meters) which allows some of the best views of the Kathmandu Valley. Sundarijal is located nearby from Mulkharka and it is a beautiful little town located nearby from the Capital. Overnight stay at a guesthouse.
Day 17: Drive to Kathmandu:
The next day, you will be driving back to Kathmandu which is located around 15 kms away from Sundarijal. It will be a short drive and in no time you will be transferred to the Hotel where you will take rest for the rest of the day.
On the last day of the itinerary, you will be transferred to the International Airport in Kathmandu from where you will take a flight back to your home country or to your next desired destination.
